Who we are

LymeTutor.com is an independent educational site about Lyme disease and tick-borne infections. It is operated by Mario, a private individual who has personally experienced and researched Lyme disease and co-infections. This site is not a medical service, a business, or a data-driven platform. It is a personal educational project made available to the public.

What data we collect — and what we don't

LymeTutor keeps things deliberately simple. There are no user accounts, no contact forms, no newsletter sign-ups, and no advertising or tracking cookies.

To understand how many people visit and which pages are helpful, the site uses its own small, self-hosted visitor counter. The data stays on LymeTutor's own server — it is never sold, and never shared with advertising networks or analytics companies. It does not use cookies, and it does not build a profile of you.

When you open a page, the counter records only aggregate, anonymous information: which page was viewed, the date, and whether the visit came from a mobile or desktop device. To count unique visitors without identifying anyone, your IP address and browser type are briefly combined into a one-way scrambled code at the moment of your visit — your actual IP address is never stored. The result is a simple tally of visits, not a record of individuals.

Third-party services

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google's servers receive your IP address and browser information as part of the standard HTTP request. Google may process this data according to their own privacy policy. We use Google Fonts because they provide fast, reliable font delivery at no cost.

No other third-party services, advertising networks, or social media trackers are present on this site.

Cookies

LymeTutor does not use cookies. The self-hosted visitor counter is cookieless by design, so no cookie-consent banner is shown.

Because this site uses no cookies and records only minimal, aggregate data, it is built to respect the spirit of privacy laws such as the GDPR. This page is a plain-language explanation, not legal advice.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. However, if you have any concern about privacy on this site, you are welcome to contact us and we will respond promptly.

If you are located in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

If you are located in California, USA, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because we do not sell personal information, the opt-out provisions of CCPA do not apply — but you are welcome to contact us with any questions.

Children

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. The content is intended for adults researching health information.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes materially, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page. Because we do not collect email addresses, we cannot notify users directly — so we encourage you to review this page periodically if you are a regular visitor.
